Stephen Curry sets 3-point record: LeBron, Chris Paul, Tom Brady react to Warriors star breaking Allen's mark

All eyes were on Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night, as Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry needed only two 3-pointers to pass Ray Allen for the most all-time. And in typical Curry fashion, he broke the record and made it look easy.

Curry drilled two 3-pointers within the first five minutes of his game against the New York Knicks to officially claim his crown as the NBA’s long-range king. The two-time MVP came into Tuesday’s game with 2,972 3-pointers, one behind Allen’s 2,973.

“I don’t even have words for it, to be honest,” Curry said earlier this season. “It’s not just getting the record. There’s another caveat of hoop heads knowing volume and efficiency is huge. Like, mastering both. So the fact that I have — I know I still got a lot more in my career — been able to shoot the percentage that I have in the regular season over the course of my career … with how defenses have changed against me and the shots that I take, and all of that, to me is pretty special. But to get to that number is a big deal.”

This 3-point record is one of many for Curry. The three-time NBA champion has the most 3-pointers in a single season (402), the most 3-pointers in a calendar month (96) and the most games with double-digit 3-pointers (22). For his career, Curry averages an NBA-record 3.8 made 3-pointers per game.

Here’s what Curry’s fans, opponents and more had to say about his record-setting accomplishment.
